General Information

The coastal town of Vilankulo, or Vilanculos, as it is also spelt, is situated in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique.  Vilankulo is Mozambique's main holiday destination, and the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago.  During peak seasons it is overrun with 4x4's, but out of season it is a very quiet town.

The gateway to the archipelago is the town of Vilankulo Dhows travel between the town and the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Machilla Magic is a community project that works with over 60 artists and their families in Vilankulo and surrounds.  Here you will find a wide range of arts and crafts of which 95% are made of recycled materials.  Some popular activities to do in the area are as follows:-
